Chatteris Museum
Mythical Monsters and Magic of Marsh and Fen
10am -12pm
Listen to the old stories of the Fens, tales of Tiddy Mun and the Green Coaties, spirits of the Great Fen, protectors of the Fen people. Make a protecting spirit mask to keep.
The Curious World of the Butterbumps of the Bogs
1pm -3pm
Investigate the wildlife of the Fens before they were drained. Learn about Devils Darning Needles’ and other wonderful wildlife.
Thursday 19th August
Ramsey Rural Museum
Samuel and the Worm
10am -12pm
A strange and ghostly tale from the haunted Fens a story of giant worms, ghosts and dead hands that will amaze you! Make a giant worm or puppet ghost.
Green Men and other Marsh Spirits
1pm – 3pm

Creatures from the Black Fen and Fenland Frighteners
10am - 3pm Drop in session
A day that explores the old stories from the Fens, hear about and make creatures that lived in the black fenland bogs. Make charms and cures to Fenland ailments and listen to frightening stories. Only the fearless should attend!
The Greater Fens Museum Partnership and the Fenland Stories travelling exhibition is led by Norfolk Museum and archaeology Service on behalf of Renaissance East of England, a Government Funded programme to provide additional support to regional museums. The partnership is supported by Renaissance East Midlands, CambridgeshireCounty Council and a number of other local organisations and agencies
