Thorney Heritage Museum
At the Bedford Hall, Thorney
By Sean Riches
The Museum
We show displays depicting the development of the village from its early monastic history to the present. The displays demonstrate how the village developed as an agricultural estate under the Dukes of Bedford and their building of the "Model Village". It is brought up to date by the section on the effect of the various wars.
Social history to the modern day is also depicted in the museum where most aspects of life are covered. Volunteer assistants are always on hand to respond to queries or to discuss exhibits.
