Lynn Museum 22.2.14

On Saturday 22nd February 2014 Lynn Museum held a special event to celebrate the opening of the first Fenland Lives & Land exhibition to be hosted by the museum. The Amazing Archaeology event included the chance to handle real museum objects, make a mini Bronze Age roundhouse to take home, have a go at ancient crafts such as pottery and braiding and watch a flint-knapper in action.
The range of activities was designed so that there would be something for everyone and lots of fun, practical activities. This certainly proved a popular approach with the 100+ visitors, one of whom commented: "The best bit was all the hands-on activities which helped the children understand the other things on view in the museum".
The Constructing the Past exhibition, which explores the archaeology of the area through a range of different materials, is at Lynn Museum until the 22nd March.
